The Edit Hotkey window allows you to modify or create a hotkey:
The Description field is a short description of the hotkey, and is shown first in the general hotkey list. Use a short text that enables you to distinguish this hotkey from your other hotkeys. The Modifier drop-down list contains the first part of your Hotkey. Each Hotkey is made of two parts - a Modifier, and a Key. A Modifier can only be certain keys designated as Control keys - this includes the SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, and Windows keys. If a Modifier is specified (None is also available), both the Modifier and the Key must be pressed before the Hotkey is activated. The Key field is the normal key to use. When focus is in the Key field, simply press down the key you wish to designate as a Hotkey. You can also select the key from the drop-down list. This is the second part of your hotkey. Now you can connect the hotkey to a function. All WinMappers functions are divided into categories, which are shown in the Categories drop-down list. Selecting a category in the list will populate the Function drop-down list with functions in the chosen category. Select a function from the drop-down list. If the function uses Parameters, these will appear below the function. In general the first parameter is required. Click on the OK button to create or update your hotkey, or click on Cancel to abort your changes. Click on the Clear button to reset all settings to their default value. This will essentially clear the hotkey, and should only be done when creating new hotkeys. |
