The Export Settings window allows you to save your hotkeys and settings to an external file, for later retrieval or installation (using the Import window). You can also email the output file to your friends, and they can easily import the hotkeys and settings you exported. The settings are exported to a standard .ini file, which contains pure text. This small file can then be opened by another WinMapper, and the settings (and hotkeys) can be imported. Screenshot: Export When you choose the File | Settings | Export Settings menu option, you are first prompted for the filename and target location of the configuration file to create. Choose a filename and location, then click on OK to continue. You are now shown a complete list of all the settings and hotkeys that can be exported and imported in WinMapper:
Hotkeys are shown in Blue text, while Settings are shown in Green text. Click on the [Remove] button to remove the highlighted items from the export. You can highlight items by clicking on the item in the list ; hold down CTRL and click to select multiple items, or hold down SHIFT and click to select a range of items. Click on the [OK] button to export the shown Hotkeys and Settings to the specified file, or click on [Cancel] button to abort the export. The exported file can be shared across computers, or emailed to a friend. Use the File | Settings | Import Settings menu option to import Hotkeys and Settings from these files. |
