triangle DirPlay

Set up a play list / run folder to quickly browse back and forth through a collection of files.

Set up a play list / run folder to quickly browse back and forth through a collection of files. Parameters Identifier - The unique name of the session. Used to distinguish one session from another. Play files - The order in which the files are played / run (by name, by date, randomly, etc.) Folder - The folder containing the files. Alternatively, you may specify a file containing the paths instead. WinMapper v1.04 supports the setup of DirPlay functions to use a special identifier called Active. When using DirPlay navigation functions with the Active session, the navigation is made on the last used DirPlay profile (the Active session). Example (with MP3 and websites) In this example, you will learn how to set up 2 DirPlay sessions : a) One for playing your favorite MP3 files - in random order. b) And another for browsing through your favorite news websites - in alphabetic order. For this, we will use the hotkeys : a) ALT + CTRL + M for the MP3 files. b) WIN + N for the news sites. First step is to open your hotkey settings :

Open WinMapper

Click on the Hotkeys button

Next, we will create the hotkey for the MP3 files.

Click on the Add button.

Enter a description in the first field. "Play MP3" for example.

Select "ALT+CTRL" in the Modifier list.

Press the 'M' key while in the first Key field - or select 'M' from the list.

Select 'DirPlay' from the Category list.

Select 'DirPlay' from the Function list.

Type 'MP3' in the Identifier field.

Select 'random' from the Play Files list.

Type the full path to the directory containing your favorite MP3 files (i.e. C:\MP3\).

Click the OK button.

The hotkey should be display in the Hotkeys list. Next step is to create the news websites hotkey :

Click on the Add button.

Enter a description in the first field - i.e. "Read the news".

Select "WIN" in the Modifier list.

Press the 'N' key while in the first Key field - or select 'N' from the list.

Select 'DirPlay' from the Category list.

Select 'DirPlay' from the Function list.

Type 'News' in the Identifier field.

Select 'by name' from the Play Files list.

Type the full path to the directory containing your news links/URLS (i.e. C:\Windows\Favorites\News Sites\).

Click the OK button.

Now that both hotkeys have been added, you are ready to try them out. Simply press ALT + CTRL + M simultaneously to start playing your MP3 files - and WIN + N for your news websites. You should then set up a hotkey for the Play Next File (or similar) function to browse through the files - remembering to select the correct Identifier.
