LogReader - Features.
LogReader enables you to process and analyze your webserver logfiles.
Detailed analysis and reporting, powerful import and export features,
and an intuitive user interface. Find out who your users are,
what they are doing, and where your server is having trouble.
Support for most webservers
LogReader can read log files from both Apache and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS),
providing support for the two most common webservers around.
You can define your own input format, thus covering any webserver that
writes its log files in a text format.
Relevant statistics
The Report window shows an overall total of the imported log files.
You can also see the subtotals for the 17 most common statuscodes.
Export to Microsoft Excel or Open Office
While analysing the log files, you can export your current view to Microsoft Excel
or an Open Office v1.1.1 Spreadsheet.
Naturally, you can also export all the records if you so choose.
Remove known IPs from your statistics
You can define custom rules that will remove certain records from your totals.
For example you can remove known IP addresses such as those from your own network.
We recommend that you remove the IP addresses of your testers,
webmasters, and other IP addresses that can have undue influence your statistics.
Find out who's downloading
You can create a collection of rules to determine the download statistics for your site.
For example you can create rules where the file extension is 'zip' or 'msi', and then
view a filtered report for only those records.
Custom rules and filters
You can create Rules to filter your data, or use Categories to create collections of
rules. There are 22 rules you can use to filter or group your data. For more information,
see the Analyse window.
Optional storage to database (DSN / ADODB)
You can export your current view (raw, filtered or grouped data) to a database table,
for further analysis or archiving.
Save report as text, XML or HTML
You can save the report in a format of your choosing. The export is made by
replacing some predefined texts in a template, and we have provided templates
for the most commonly desired output formats. You can copy a template to create
your own output format.
Multiple sites supported
You can include webserver log files from a number of sources and sites,
and then use rules to group the data.
Configurable input/output formats
LogReader features fully configurable input and output formats
using delimited or markup text files.
